Supermodel Frankie Suave
We receive packages from Chewy nearly every week, so seeing a package in yesterday’s mail wasn’t exactly a surprise. We have three different foods for the four of us (Typhoon has his special diet and Frankie eats a senior oriented food) plus treats, supplements, and other supplies. But something about this parcel was different. Imagine our surprise when we discovered a portrait of our fearless leader.

The construction in the backyard has created quite the maze of obstacles, some more fun than others. Landon loved having his giant hill of dirt that gave him the perfect perch. Before the rains started earlier this week, though, the construction crew spread the dirt in preparation for the pavers to be installed next week. Sadly, that means we’ve had to say bye bye Boom Boom Mountain. Unfortunately, Landon appears to still be trying to climb it.

We Siberian Huskies are known for being somewhat opinionated, but none of us quite as much as His Royal Highness Little Prince Typhoon Phooey. To put it mildly, Typhoon has a slightly high opinion of himself and believes that no mere human should disagree. And when, say, Hu-Dad might suggest that the world doesn’t revolve around the Little Curmudgeon, what happens? The royal cold shoulder. Just imagine snorts of displeasure and you have the whole experience. (By the way, Hu-Dad taking photos didn’t smooth things over).

We’re expecting an inch-and-a-half of rain over the next couple of days, so the construction crew covered the backyard project with tarps. You would think the slippery surface would inhibit launch capabilities, but Landon proved that wrong. Air Boom Boom has achieved launch speed.

Hu-Dad always tells us to be quiet when he’s working in the study, but then he gets concerned when we get quiet. Does that make any sense? When he checked yesterday, he discovered Roscoe P. and His Royal Highness Little Prince Typhoon Phooey having an under the table meeting. He doesn’t believe the Trouble Brothers weren’t plotting and planning some mischief.

We only received about a half-inch of fresh snow from the storm that worked its way up the east coast, but we sure got the frigid temperatures. Our highs hovered in the mid 20’s with a stiff breeze, so the humans insisted we complete our walks quickly and efficiently. As bedtime approached, Landon announced with a solid woo and a Boom Boom stretch that he was ready to head upstairs. Wonder how many of our readers are yawning at the sight?

Frankie Suave’s schedule is hectic. He manages two walks and two meals a day around his quite time-consuming nap schedule. Of course, he must direct the activities of the younger members of The Herd (or, at least, direct them not to bother him and as long as that is true, he doesn’t care what they do). Through it all, he has to keep the Hu-Dad on task. So, sorry, but a busy Suave doesn’t have time to pose for photos.

Can you imagine? People ask us all the time how Hu-Dad gets us to sit still for some photos. For example, Roscoe here just wanted to sit beside the stone column on our new pavilion. He wasn’t being enticed with any sort of treat. No, not at all. This is absolutely not staged. He just happens to be staring at the sky and thinking what a great day it is.

Landon has discovered the coolest pile of Lego and is making plans. Hu-Dad claims that concrete pad is for an outdoor fireplace, but we Siberian Huskies don’t need heat interfering with our cold weather. Instead, though, he could build Fort Boom Boom and hide from his brothers when they’ve had enough of his bounciness.

As we mentioned yesterday, Landon lost his footing doing zoomies around our muddy backyard and skidded on his face. Concerned readers asked if he got a bath afterwards, but the short answer is no. Our Hu-Dad jokes that Sibes are cats in dog suits and one of those traits is that we are a self-cleaning Siberian Husky. The dirt dries, we shake it off, add a little tongue and paw cleaning, and we’re as good as new. Of course, the next question is how long will Landon stay clean.
Read Today's Herd StoryWatchtower Success
Boom Boom’s snow mountain has become a mud mountain, but he still prefers his perch on the top of the world. After all of the kidding he has endured for his altitude preference, he proudly reported a watchtower success by spying invaders on our property before his brothers sensed them. Now if only he could figure out what kind of big dogs they are. Click the link to see if you can help Landon out.
Read Today's Herd StoryResistance is Futile
The younger boys of The Herd are boisterous personalities, each in their own unique ways. Frankie Suave, however, is quieter in his style. Don’t confuse that reserved approach with a lack of clarity about his wants. When he turns his focus—and those big brown eyes—on the Hu-Dad, resistance is futile.
