Still Talking

January 21, 2021 |

After our Monday Musing post showing Landon yammering away, many readers wanted to know if Boom Boom really talked often. Yes, the boy chatters about many things and tends to give us a play-by-play throughout the day. And, yes, Frankie Suave is ever patient even if Landon is still talking.

Vacation Over

January 17, 2021 |

All good things must come to an end and that includes our camping trip last week down to James Island. We declared our vacation over and took one last walk around the lake before piling into the car and heading home. Roscoe says goodbye to the ducks and geese, though we’ll be back soon.

Playground Ahead

January 16, 2021 |

The park we camped in has three loop trails. One goes through a marsh area with some gorgeous views. Another circles a lake with lots of ducks and geese. And the third goes through a playground normally filled with kids. All are enticing to canine senses, so Typhoon and Roscoe are excited to be on the playground route.

We were leashing up in our campsite for another of our thrice-daily walks when the Little Prince found himself covered in Roscoe’s leash. While he is asking the Hu-Dad to “Get this off me,” we think he has a few more choice words. So go ahead, Dear Reader, put yourself in the paws of canine royalty and caption this photo!

Random Travels

January 14, 2021 |

One of the trails we took during our vacation crossed a wooden bridge. Landon had so much fun walking across it that he decided to turn around and go back across. Unfortunately, he forgot to tell his big brother, Frankie Suave, who doesn’t seem surprised at all by Boom Boom’s random travels.

Speed It Up

January 10, 2021 |

A light drizzle fell, so Frankie hurried up his business so he could get back under the roof of the deck. He scrambled up the steps and waited for the gate to be opened. Hu-Dad, unfortunately, doesn’t have four paws to bound up the stairs, so he was a few steps behind. Frankie admonishes him to speed it up.

Get Off My Lawn

January 9, 2021 |

Poor Typhoon. He wants his world to operate in exactly his way without any outside interference. When he saw kids playing next door, he wanted to yell, “Get off my lawn.” Then Hu-Dad pointed out they were in their own yard and had every right to play there. Typhoon does not seem convinced. (P.S.—No barking was involved, just much staring.)

Caption This: Moment Of Impact

January 8, 2021 |

Roscoe adores his big brother Typhoon, so when he saw him standing alone in the yard, he had to race over. Unfortunately, the grass was wet, Roscoe was going too fast, and his brakes weren’t up to the challenge. Hu-Dad caught this photo a split-second before impact and wondered who said what. So, dear reader, caption this!

Pardon Me

January 7, 2021 |

What do you say when you had claimed the front of the line to go in the house first but then your big brother comes along and says move it? Based on Landon’s reaction, he appears to have decided the wisest course of action is to say, “Pardon me. Why don’t you go first?”

The Royal Snooter

January 5, 2021 |

The most common question the Hu-Dad receives is “Where’s the Sled?” Seriously. We get asked this at least once and usually several times a day when out for a walk. But right behind that question is where all of our nicknames came from. Today’s photo explains the Little Prince. We aren’t sure if that Royal Snooter could possibly be higher in the air as he prances out of the house one morning.
