Rusty’s Latest Equipment Find

Rusty is notorious for his love of heavy equipment.  If you need a refresher, check out his hauler here, his grader here, and his shovel here.  But, unless you are certain ridiculously lucky dogs like these, you are currently missing that most important Siberian element – SNOW.  Rusty has found the perfect solution – a piece of machinery that also produces snow – courtesy of our neighbors – Cataloochee Ski Resort.  We are sure they will not miss a couple of these.

Woooo - I have seen these at work all winter long.

They produce lots and lots of that white, fluffy stuff we love so much.

And our neighbor has lots and lots of these - they would never miss a few, would they?

  9. Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara on June 1, 2011 at 8:42 pm

And with a team to pull one of those like The Herd, it wouldn’t take much to get one home:)

  10. Elyse and Riley on June 1, 2011 at 8:15 pm

Rusty, we don’t think they’ll miss one or two (or three or four) of those! Go for it! Now you just have to hook it up to a sled and pull it home. Good luck! Maybe you can get some of the rest of The Herd to help out!!

I shudder at the thought of your next electricity bill. 😉

  16. Sagira on June 1, 2011 at 5:12 pm

Rusty is so funny. That would be so cool to be able to make your own snow in the middle of summer. 🙂

Okay…I’m confused. Are we supposed to mention our rescue once a day or just once general? If once a day, I am mentioning Louisville Weimaraner Rescue again. 🙂

    Can’t wait for post 1,000

    • D.K. Wall on June 1, 2011 at 9:28 pm

Yes – one post per day per commenter – and you can mention the same or a different animal charity with each post.

Big Fluffy Dog Rescue again, please!

  21. Stella on June 1, 2011 at 11:19 am

Rusty is going to be a popular guy with all of the snow makers handy.

I have to admit to loving big eqipment too, I could watch that stuff go all day long.!

Lets have one more vote for the Joplin Humane Soc.

    Cheers,
    Stella, Jo and Zkhat

  22. Fiona on June 1, 2011 at 11:12 am

Um.. Rusty? Those generally work well when it is COLD. They also require a TON of water. Oh, and they’re kinda heavy. But you’ve got a pack of friends (hah!) so I’m sure you could haul away one. Tell the resort you’ll store it for them, and then conveniently “lose” it. They’ve got insurance…. Besides, they probably won’t miss a $100,000 piece of equipment… 🙂

Good luck and let us know how your plan goes!

BTW, we’re adding another vote for Paws and Stripes!

  24. The Army of Four on June 1, 2011 at 10:56 am

    MaPaw!
Hey, Rusty! I think those snow machines are awesome! Were you able to drag any of them home with you? I’ll bet they wouldn’t miss them! Not for a while, anyway!
Check out the equipment Dave and I found! Ha rooooo!
    Play bows,
    Zim

  25. Mogley G. Retriever on June 1, 2011 at 9:46 am

The snow machines are still running in the high Rockies, at least they were until Saturday. Well, not the machines, but Mother Nature was still sending the snow during a rain in the low lands. No machines needed. A little cold spell delivered new snow. Now we have 80+ degree temps forcast for the next week. Over 120 inches of the white stuff is still up there, so watch out below, here comes the water.

We have to nominate Golden Retriever Rescue of the Rockies (GRRR), our Alma mater.

    Mogley G. Retriever

  26. Rocco on June 1, 2011 at 9:20 am

I don’t think they would miss one right? You could have snow all year long if you snagged that!

Gotta throw in my vote for Taysia Blue SHR for today! One more day and it is the 1000th post!

  27. Niko and daniel on June 1, 2011 at 8:37 am

Great find! Now if you can find a kibble maker you could snow yourself in at chez herd and be set for life! Well, the hu-dad would have to adapt his food tastes a little 🙂

Also, another nom for Texas husky rescue.

    Woos,
    Niko and wolfy

  28. houndstooth on June 1, 2011 at 8:16 am

Rusty, if I win the lottery, I will buy one of those for you! It was made for you! I think you definitely need to take one of those back to your favorite tree and make the magic happen!

Of course we’re voting for Quad Cities again!

  29. huskymom on June 1, 2011 at 7:54 am

Rusty, the red team could easily haul one of those cool red machines home. Do it now! And add one more nomination for Tails of the Tundra Sibe Rescue.

–Rubi, Holly and Sprite (too hot for us–need snow!)

  30. Khyra on June 1, 2011 at 6:49 am

  32. Suka on June 1, 2011 at 2:25 am

    hey Rudy,

Take it! Take it! Take it! If you don’t, it will be one of those things you regret for the rest of your life. Just make sure you leave no evidence, and blame the kitties in the neighborhood if anyone asks. Because we all know cats are always the culprets! ;->

And while you are at it, grab a couple for me. Thanks!

    Suka

p.s. My vote is for the Joplin Humane Society.
