Queen Natasha the Evil, of course, has long been the leader of The Herd. And when we cart or sled, she is our regular lead dog. Since she is 10, however, we have also been working Cheoah as the lead dog for carting and sledding (though QNTE has no intention of giving up leader of home life). Based on some pictures from our hike today, though, some pup is trying to be the upcoming lead dog.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
I laughed out loud because we call Küster the Little Prince, too! They have such confidence, those pups!
He’s trying to say “Get a move on!!!”
Typhoon sez> Faster! FASTER!
Typhoon – don’t you know we girls are ALWAYS in charge? 🙂
Cammie!
Typhoon the little prince sure shows promise in taking the lead one day. Not too soon though. Happy hiking to the Herd!
Hugs from the Piappies!
Love,
Piappies Fudgie, Princess, Frappie, Mocha, Sugar, Wai-Max, Wai-Pai & Forgie
Ayla sez: Jus’ take it easy “Little Prince”, your day will come. Meanwhile, maybe best you don’t “step on anybody’s toes”!
Why are there no pictures of the dogs sledding or carting?
Hu-dad is always impressed with those who can run and photograph at the same time. Here, though, is a video of some early fall training – https://thethunderingherd.com/2010/10/20/dog-sled-training-videos-finally-posted/
