Dog Sled Training Videos Finally Posted

Yes, we finally were able to convince the hu-dad to break out the video editing software and edit a short video of some of our sled training runs from this past weekend.  He made sure to get a short clip of each one of us running, a clip of the 4 dog team pulling a scooter, and even a clip from the musher’s viewpoint.  The whole video is less than two minutes (trying to have sympathy on everyone without true broadband internet – like us!).  Hope you enjoy it!

See you on the trails!

Boy O Boy was that fun…! Perked my ears up real high and even woke the Bleu up from a deep slumber!

My the Mom is very impressed wif the way you all work together. It’s like she’s never witnessed that before! (Have you seen our walkin videos???)

My favorite part was the looks that were given the cameraman! Just sayin.

    Excellento!

Typical fluffybottoms trotting along, watching the cameraperson!

Your runs look like a lot less chaos then ours are! Very calm and collected.

Looks wonderful, Herd! But I don’t think I have seen you hitched to a sled for winter running. Do you do that?

    Kisses,
    Stella

Looks awesome! I’m really impressed with you using a scooter(?). I have a 3-wheel bike I use, I’d be scared to death using two wheels! BOL We just practice for fun. Look great!

I have a friend who would give her eye-teeth to do what you just did with those dogs. She has loved this breed since the day she was born and now is without a dog in her life. I send her a lot of your posts to enjoy and enjoy she does!

OMD that was soooo cool. Question, do you think Snow Flake heard “Oh My” instead of “On By” that time with the labrador? cuz you know that’s a completely different command…

  24. gus, louie and callie on October 20, 2010 at 4:54 pm

Such fun you all get to have!!! Thanks for taking the time to prepare the video – it was great. Only took us 7:30 min. to get through it:(

  33. Jake and Just Harry on October 20, 2010 at 10:51 am

What fun!!! We had to watch sans speaker because our mom knows we would join in the chorus once we heard your melodious voices. We’re terriers — but that looks like something we’d love to do. As a matter of fact, every morning and evening, when our dogdad hooks us up to our flexi-leads and we burst out of the door for our walkies — he has been known to say “Mush!!”

Wirey woofs and thanks for the cool treat!

  34. Tucker on October 20, 2010 at 10:09 am

How do you handle that scary scooter following you? I couldn’t do it. I’d be too nosey and watch it from behind me.

As you went to the team of four, I started wondering if you had brakes on the scooter… I hope so! It looked like the dogs had a blast, and you did too! Thanks for enduring the video editing software. I managed to watch the video in the early AM, the only time that our internet approaches high speed!

    • D.K. Wall on October 20, 2010 at 9:43 am

Yes, hydraulic brakes on both front and back. The scooters also have shock absorber systems.

  38. Houndstooth on October 20, 2010 at 8:42 am

That is just exceptionally cool! I’m still pondering how fast that could go with Greyhounds pulling it. I can’t believe Hu-Dad left out the crash! *big grin*

  39. Huskys Rule on October 20, 2010 at 8:30 am

Eight paws up from us!!!!!!!!! That looks like so much fun!!!! Hu-mom says no way is she riding a scooter with us pulling (not sure why she would say that)(hehehe!!!)

I had to stop by to see what Toby was watching in his Wordless Wednesday post. Thanks for this videio – it’s so great to see you all in action.

Sending you woofs, and wishing I could run with the herd (perhaps in my dreams!)

  43. Martha and Bailey on October 20, 2010 at 3:54 am

Oh, we heard you guys at the beginning and decided to join in!
Martha is currently howling – we do hope you can hear her – so musical although the neighbours may not agree!
We loved seeing you pulling your human who at least had wheels! We do a lot of pulling humans ourselves!
We thought your countryside looked so very much like our own, especially with the Autumn colours.
    A great action video.
    love

  44. MAXMOM on October 20, 2010 at 3:18 am

My first reaction was to say, “I wish you could have seen Toby’s face when he saw your video and heard the Herd!”. Well, maybe you can…afterall, it is Wordless Wednesday!
What an amazing video and what a beautiful setting too! I suppose one has to be fit when you have a Herd, don’t you?! Sending lotsaluv
