We’ve been hammered with a hot June. We continue to take our morning walks in morning temperatures in the 60ºs, but aren’t taking our afternoon walks because the temperatures are soaring into the 80ºs and 90ºs.
We know many of you are suffering from hotter weather, but for Asheville, this is scorching.
Worse, very few thunderstorms accompanied our heatwave. We’ve had less than two inches of rain, almost all in the early part of the month.
This morning, we woke to a drizzle. More of a misting. We’ve recorded 0.02″ of falling moisture.
Landon decided he didn’t want to pass up the glorious feel and smell of wet grass. When a little rain falls, he celebrates in the most Boom Boom way possible—a nice roll in the grass.
Enjoy this morning’s photos of a happy Boom. (Remember, you can click on one photo and then scroll through them all.)

Hurricane Hugo Memories
September 21, 2024
Thirty-five years ago, a massive storm hammered our region and left a path of destruction, leaving us with Hurricane Hugo memories.
I love Boom Boom! 🩵
Ahhhh! Life’s little pleasures💕
Nice to see Landon enjoying the day:)
The joy of the smell and feel of wet grass. 🙂
Someone is a happy pup!
We can share! We are getting plenty of rain and will be in the 60’s all week.
Landon as always is adorable enjoying the misting. ♥
AAWWW Boom Boom-you look SO happy!!! Yes the weather was 100 last Saturday but today ONLY 83!!! It’s funny he loves water where Roscoe says NOPE!!!!!
And the wonderful smell of wet dog after
I’m picturing a baby pool filled with ice for the kids.
Cheoah (aka, Cheesewhiz) loved the pool, but no one else has ever shown interest. Roscoe doesn’t even like rain when we’re walking.
Oh what fun rolling in the “wet” grass. Landon is like all of us we will take what we can get. Greensboro has been 90s & 80s at night. No thunderstorms. Hoping July brings rain – my garden is suffering !!
