Typhoon’s Tenth Herdaversary

A decade ago, we adopted puppy Ty who became named after a natural disaster and lived up to it. Yes, it’s Typhoon’s Tenth Herdaversary.

He might have been less than a year old, but Ty came to us full of bravado. We asked readers to help us think of a two syllable name that started with Ty, and the rest is history. A Typhoon was born and the path of destruction continues to this day.

He loved our long walks. We took a lot of them all while Hu-Dad muttered something about burning energy off a certain juvenile delinquent.

Though he had to learn not to chew on siblings during walks.

He loved being a part of a big family and all the games that were played. Of course, sometimes others wanted the games to wait a while, but he had secret ways to instigate them.

We loved the youthful energy of the junior team, though Cheoah sometimes wondered why she needed two younger brothers.

Typhoon learned the rules of the house, though he always came up with some unique ways of complying.

And we might have suffered from a wee bit more damage around the house from some youthful exuberance, though Typhoon always maintained total innocence against any accusations.

Destruction? What destruction?
Destruction? What destruction?

So, yes, we welcomed young Typhoon to our Herd ten years ago. Who would have thought a decade of mischief would follow?

Would this face cause trouble?

Happy Tenth Herdaversary, His Royal Highness Little Prince Typhoon Phooey.

awwww—how nice to see that Sibe behavior hasn’t change since we last had three in our home. We miss those days, now decades ago. But we’d not change them for anything in the world. Happy 10 th Ty!

This post makes me so happy. Typhoon is such a good boy and I hope he has special “Herdaversary” treats just for him! Maybe even a “Herdaversary Cake”. 🙂 He sure deserves it.

He’s such a unique boy. I remember his being a tough one with his digestive issues. He lucked out landing with the herd.

His digestive issues remain quite the challenge, but we keep them under control with a very strict diet and medications.

Typhoon! I remember the day your addition was announced. Hard to believe I’ve been following this blog for so long. (Actually I remember Frankie’s arrival too). This blog would not have been the same without all your curmudgeonly posts. Keep up the good work?

Wow, ten years. And everyone survived! Is he still as much of a “typhoon” as he used to be?

    • The Thundering Herd on January 5, 2023 at 4:09 pm

He has his moments. He issued a royal decree that no further comments be allowed on this issue.
