A mild drought continues to grip our mountains, but small daily rain storms continue as well. Still, the rain delays our games at Chez Herd.
Our mountains get a significant amount of rain, so drought is a relative term for us. We are several inches shy of normal rainfall and could use a nice soaking rain. Despite the drought, however, we are having regular thunderstorms nearly every day. Most of them are minor, but just enough rain falls to slow our games.
The rains cool our temperatures by a few degrees, so we enjoy that part. Of course, we prefer snow, but we will have to wait a few months for that.
In the meantime, we just wait out these little storms. Some of us struggle with smiling while waiting, however.
