Delay of Game

Hu-Dad loaded us into the Jeep yesterday with a promise of a walk, but then there was a delay of game. What will we do with him?

Are we there yet?

Are we there yet?

Sunday was beautiful and spring like, though most of our higher elevation trails (and much of our yard) were still snow covered and icy. Hu-Dad announced he was taking us down to Asheville for a nice walk in the park.

This still doesn't look like a park.

This still doesn’t look like a park.

Since Asheville is almost an hour drive to the east for us, Hu-Dad thought it made sense for him to run a few errands before our walk. He just forgot to tell us that.

Napping in the Jeep

Napping in the Jeep.

We did our best to be patient while he ran errands, but there might have been a lot of exaggerated sighing and moaning. Just saying.

Another parking lot to nap.

Another parking lot to nap.

Finally. Finally. Finally. We arrived at Carrier Park and began our walk. Nothing quite as normal as a family walk.

Notice that Typhoon was narrating the entire walk. Yes, the entire walk.

Don’t worry. We are used to Typhoon’s antics during our walks. Even if people might stare and wonder about his backwards ways.

When we say backwards, we mean backwards. Literally.

We have run into this issue, and if we delay from reaching our destination there will be very loud crying and moaning from Ryder and Kori. They do not practice patience! At least you guys were polite, and you sure look like you had fun!

My children would give exaggerated sighs and comments if I ran errands on the way to the park also.
