Fall days are great for so many reasons – cooler weather and fall colors being at the top of that list. No story today – just some pictures from around the house.
Miss Kiska’s coat is thickening for the coming winter.
She isn’t the only one. Qannik is looking quite fluffy.
A view of part of Sibe Quentin – and our fall colors.
And Chez Herd itself nestled in the changing trees.
Our view from the dining room will change dramatically in the coming weeks. The leaves will fall and we will have a clear view of Ski Cataloochee (They typically open in late October or first part of November, depending on weather).
Hemphill Bald rises up in front of our house. That tree line at the top marks the boundary to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Looking toward Soco Gap from Cataloochee Ranch.
The horses are also getting ready for the coming winter weather (and were curious about Hu-dad walking around with a camera).
So beautiful, thanks for sharing.
Spectacular pictures of fall! Zoe is still blowing her coat here in Ohio, where the trees are just starting to change.
Great pictures! I love seeing the fall colors, especially in the mountains.
I love to see the thickening coats plus those amazing colors! I love all the reds…
Mom sez: You are so lucky to be living in such a beautiful part of the country. The colours are the same as up here in Northern BC. They are much brighter up here than they are in the Lower Mainland of BC, and more “temperate” parts of the country. You must be up fairly high in the mountains where you are, too.
Oh yes, and Ice is also starting to grow his winter woollies, and is looking like a huge fuzz ball right now!
We live at about 5,000 feet / 1500 meters.
