Relaxing in Hot Weather

Woooo, it is getting to be summer.   When we go on hikes now, the skies are no longer totally clear and we are starting to see lots of fluffy clouds like these:

Cheoah has decided that the heat and humidity is getting to be a bit much, though she well recognizes that we are not going to get much sympathy from most of you.  Our highs are now in the low 70’s F (low 20’s C).  But to us, that is hot.  So Cheoah has mastered the relaxation poses to be able to cool off.

Take this first picture.  In her crate after a long hike, she even has the front paw extended out of the crate to maximize coolness.  Quite the relaxed look huh?

And when we got to one observation deck on a trail, she sprawled out as much as possible:

But did you notice the special touch?  The subtle way she is saying she is not yet ready for continuing the hike?  Don’t see it?  Let’s zoom in:

Now that is paw placement.  “Don’t touch this leash until I say I am ready.”

Yes, ma’am.

Cheoah has it figured out! She’s one smart pup, but I’m not surprised since she is a girl.

Our girls have been affected by the warm and REALLY muggy, humid weather. Hope it will get back to normal again soon.

We were wondering what Natashsa thought of this too! We think low 70’s is perfect – warm enough for Momma to want to walk and cool enought that we want too.

very nice paw placement – she is resting – but i wonder what the queen would think of her dictating the pace of the walk. I know sweetie get made when MJ is moving too slow

Very good paw placement – the message is loud and clear.

We have one here, Phantom, who will walk no matter how hot it is. It can be 104 degrees and oppressively humid and he will walk and pull and just keep on going.
