White Squirrels

no-squirrels

Our friend over at Mountain Musings posted yesterday about a new squirrel threat and I urge all of our furry squirrel hunters to pay very close attention to this.  They are now discovering camouflage for winter conditions.  Check this out:

This is particularly concerning to The Herd because these are pictured in Brevard, NC, which means they are practically our neighbors.  Ok, maybe 50 miles and over a mountain range, but up here – that is a neighbor.  But the back story for how white squirrels came to be in Brevard, NC, is far more fascinating.  Please go check out the post – The Ugly Truth about Those Squirrels.  And all of our DWB friends should check out the “Fridays are Golden” blog posts at Mountain Musings as well.

And since we enjoy introducing new blogs to you, let me mention a very new blog.  Their very first post was done this week.  Please stop by and welcome Phoenix to the blogging world.

Have a Happy Thursday!

I wonder if the white squirrel is meant to eat for dessert?

Humom tells me when she lived up north, they had fat beautiful black squirrels in the park in Boston. And they would come right up to the humans and demand a food.

I’m sure that white squirrel would be just as tasty as a gray squirrel. Thanks for introducing us to Phoenix.

Never seen a white squirrel, never ever. But yesterday we saw a grey squirrel with a rusty-red tail – too bad we didn’t have the flashy beast with us.

We will go say hello to Phoenix.
