Joining The Speed Racer Club

When we mention the Speed Racer Club of The Herd, we think of the champion, Typhoon. But guess who was added to the membership roster?

Typhoon, Champion of the Speed Racer Club

Typhoon, Champion of the Speed Racer Club

Without a doubt, Typhoon is the fastest here at Chez Herd. He not only has incredible speed, he can also dart, twist and turn faster than any rabbit here. Which, of course, never ends well for the rabbits.

After a couple of weeks of daily rain, our weather cleared and cooled last night – a beautiful, crisp summer evening. That burst of cooler temperatures added some bounce to everyone’s step – and a little speed to someone unexpected.

Holy cow! Is that who I think it is?

Holy cow! Is that who I think it is?

Maybe not faster than a speeding bullet? Maybe she can’t leap tall buildings in a single bound. But someone has turned on the turbo!

Mom sez: Just goes to prove that “age is only a number”, it’s the heart that tells the real story. ‘Way to go, Cheoah!

Go, Speed Racer! Go, Speed Racer, goooo! Umm… I mean Cheoah.
Our mom says something about having a cartoon theme song stuck in her head now and it’s all your hu-dad’s fault.
    Yours sincerely,

With the “Holy cow” exclamation from Typhoon, I really thought we’d be seeing a picture of Qannik! ???? Cheoah seems to still be pretty fiesty so it’s hard to remember she is considered older.

Hu-Dad saw top speed from the Q last week, but he didn’t have a camera to capture it. Dinner was being served and Q was at the bottom of the yard. He hit maximum White Fluffy Speed.

I love seeing my older collies run and play. It doesn’t happen often, but always makes me smile. I’m sure you feel the same, it would be hard not to enjoy seeing them having fun. How old is Cheoah?

    • The Thundering Herd on June 26, 2017 at 7:30 am

She has been with us just over 9 years, so the question is how old was she when we got her. She was found tied behind a foreclosed house as the owners had just left. There were AKC papers that suggested that she was 2.5 years old, but no way to know if the papers belonged to her or not. So at least 10, maybe 11, possibly 12.
