Too Hot For Us

We did a rare thing—or, more accurately, didn’t do a common thing—yesterday because it was too hot for us here in Asheville.

Let's go back inside - too hot for us
Let’s go back inside

We walk twice a day, come rain or shine, for a total of six miles. Yesterday, though, we only did our morning walk. After a quite cool June, yesterday’s high of 89ºF at the house was just too much, so we skipped our afternoon walk. We did make up for it with some evening yard time, but Frankie says even that was a bit much.

It got nasty hot quick. It went from mid 80’s to mid 90’s in a few days. Got to get used to it. The HokiePack goes out does their thing & come back in.
I love NC don’t like the nasty hot 🥵

My Chihuahua boy LOVES to lie in the sun, but only for 5 minutes in this weather!

Heat (+ humidity – like we tend to have here with New England summers) definitely too HOT for Huskies!!
We “scale back” on our mileage, too if it’s 80+ degrees.
This is our ” hibernation” time– relaxing in the yard by the “pool” ( kiddie size!!) , playing quick games that usually lead to a zoomie -fest, and just enjoying the nature around us 🦋🌻🌱.
Of course the air conditioning in the.house gives us much relief.
When we do walk, we stay in shade and walk on grassy areas or trails! And, of course we always bring plenty of ice cold water 💦
    Keep cool!! + Enjoy a great “downtime” 😎^..^ 💕

My girl suffers so much in the heat/humidity she is lucky to get in a mile per day. She lays in front of the fan and dreams of snow. Hang in there Frankie..
