Walking On Water (Sort Of)

A little rain on our Monday didn’t stop our twice daily strolls, though we were mostly alone while walking on water.

Where are all the kayakers and fishermen?
Where are all the kayakers and fishermen?

Rainy Mondays may not be the best way to start the week, but we still got both of our walks in yesterday. We were able to thread the storms and still go the full distance both times (and a little damp). And it seemed like we were the only ones trying to do that.

If we don't hurry home, we'll get wet.
If we don’t hurry home, we’ll get wet.

So, no one saw us walking on water. Not out there in the marsh, but the water under our feety-feet on the trail. Hey—we did say sort of. You don’t think we’re crazy enough to actually go out in that?

It could be fun.
It could be fun.

Are they wearing two collars?? I am trying to figure out how you have them hooked up. It looks much smarter – and safer – than mine.

My first husky loved water. Hated a bath but loved to be wet. She was so frustratingly fun.

We wear breakaway collars indoors and around the house. We had an incident many years ago where Rusty’s jaw got caught in Natasha’s collar while they were playing and we nearly lost both of them. We’ve never worn regular collars offleash since.

When we walk, we wear Martingale collars. Those are removed the second we get back home.

Thus, yes, you see both collars when we are onleash but only the Martingales are connected to the leash.
