The fence not only gave us freedom in the yard, but freedom to explore the two levels of decks. Let the deck games commence!
Since our house sits on the salt marsh, we have two levels of decks: off the top floor (bedrooms) and the main floor (Hu-Dad’s study and the rest of the living space). The ground floor has our yard and the garage area which is also the flood zone space (living on the coast means the house is on pylons). Now that the fence is installed, we can go up and down the steps to our yard or any part of the house.
The humans end their day sitting on the deck as the sun sets. Apparently they find it peaceful to watch the birds in the marsh, though we do our best to create a ruckus on the deck with our wrestling games.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Looks like it is almost plucking time! I can’t resist!
glad they have the decks to play on too!
The decks must cut down on the zoomies in the house. I wonder if the stairs are tough on Cheesie. Juno avoids them now in her 16th year.
Chez Herd has a great new playground.. Fun time.
Have you left the mountains ⛰ permanency?
I am SO glad the HERD is enjoying the deck and fencing. Wow-double levels!! Hu-Dad can be spied on(lol) from the deck while he sits at his desk. Have fun Typhoon and Roscoe and of course the entire herd!
