An encounter with law enforcement yesterday left Hu-Dad at the mercy of the Little Prince’s good behavior as the law and the delinquent came nose to nose.
Rains were threatening, so our afternoon walk was a little earlier than normal. We walked to the Oyster Landing, a popular spot for fisherman to launch their boats and oyster hunters to wade into the salt marsh. A Fish and Wildlife Officer was working the area, saw us, and came over quickly to say hi. He was enamored with us and met first Roscoe nose to nose and then turned to Typhoon, who was doing his best “sit pretty.” Hu-Dad watched the officer bend over to say hello and fully expected the Little Prince to launch two muddy paws on the center of the officer’s bullet proof vest.
We need only remind the Hu-Dad that we have even met a Congressman without causing an international incident (albeit before Typhoon), but he didn’t relax until after the officer and Typhoon had exchanged pleasantries. Fortunately, things went well and Typhoon pranced all the way home.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
What a diplomatic Little Prince you are Typhoon!!!
Typhoon may have encountered uniformed people in his past and knew how to behave. ;-)) If we could only read their minds.
Dogs in general, are great ambassadors. Huskies being so striking in appearance, always get lots of attention. When I used to take Juno everywhere, people knew her name but not mine. I was ok with that as long as she was welcomed in the places we went.
Do these people ask first before going in to pet all those dogs? I have people ask but my dogs don’t do well with any strangers and when I explain this (I have gsds), people get offended. I will not put my dogs in an uncomfortable position just to appease some humans (hmmm what dog do I sound like)?
oh my! breathing a sigh of relief here!
knowing how you don’t like to be touched… well… I mean. YOU KNOW!
just glad you endured the amazing greet!
bless sweet Roscoe! I can imagine the welcome the officer got and enjoyed! 🙂
I think you should have received 2 treats for that good behavior!!
Good job Little Prince-glad you behaved with the officer so Hu-Dad didn’t get a citation for BAD behavior-lol!!! What treat did you get?
