Aerial Assault

After all of our storms, we finally had a beautiful, sunny, blue-sky day, perfect for relaxing outdoors. Until the aerial assault began.

Look at that giant, loud bird.
Look at that giant, loud bird.

The rain and wind stopped. The clouds parted. The sun came out. An absolutely perfect mountain day to enjoy the yard. Until a giant bird swooped overhead.

A really loud bird.
A really loud bird.

A pair of Army Chinook helicopters flew along the mountain tops including right over our heads. We were all in awe of the big birds.

Wonder if I can catch it?
Wonder if I can catch it?

Our fierce show of security clearly scared the big bird away and we watched him turn tail and run.

Fly away, big bird, fly away.
Fly away, big bird, fly away.

Miss Kiska must be smiling down on our boys as they took her security training to heart. Look at them defending the perimeter.

Good job boys and girls! Do you ever get the military jets doing passbys? Somebody’s relative must be doing the ones occasionally over here in LS. Can I plug Nicole Wilde’s blog on dog training and behavior? See [email protected] I have several of her books and dvds but my pack says “It doesn’t apply to them, they are free spirited nomads of the north”, Ha!

You can feel the air move when those things fly over. The kids must have wondered what was going on.
