Brighten A Dreary Day

Our state set rainfall records last year from coast to mountains, so we have become experts in how to brighten a dreary day (with extra photos!)

Hi, Hu-Dad. You weren't trying to work, were you?
Hi, Hu-Dad. You weren’t trying to work, were you?

Our year has started out much like it ended – rainy. Our state has set records from the coast (Wilmington over 100 inches of rain last year) to the mountains (Mt. Mitchell nearly 140 inches), and the new year doesn’t look any different.

Are you back talking me, kid?
Are you back talking me, kid?

When Hu-Dad suggested the afternoon walk might need to be suspended, the games began. The unlikeliest pair of buddies led them off.

Let the games begin!
Let the games begin!

The wrestling match was on as the combatants whirled and twirled.

Hey, you chomped me!
Hey, you chomped me!

Who was winning? Did it matter?

I chomped you back.
I chomped you back.

And, with that, we showed we know how to brighten a dreary day.

You can let go now.
You can let go now.

You do need a Herd to keep you smiling with that much rain. We get by with 1 and only 50″ rain and 80″ snow to keep her semi happy. Your pictures take care of our morning smiles!!
