We thought we would give you a glimpse of Roscoe’s morning routine (after our first walk and breakfast which are before sunrise).
Our mornings start with a walk through the neighborhood around 6 am, which is before sunrise this time of year. Hu-Dad says that can be exciting some mornings since we can’t see what wildlife might be hanging out in the shadows. We eat our breakfast when we get back to the house and get ready for our day.
By this point, Hu-Dad is settling into his study for a morning of writing while we start planning out our day. You know, how often to ask Hu-Dad to open the door to let us in and out and in and out and in and out and…

Hurricane Hugo Memories
September 21, 2024
Thirty-five years ago, a massive storm hammered our region and left a path of destruction, leaving us with Hurricane Hugo memories.
Chessie’s evening routine includes numerous ins and outs between 7 and 9 pm. We’ll never know why, or what she did every night before we got her.
My Huskies are rolling on the floor howling. How could any Sibe need improvement? They are pointing their paws right at me, and their brother, the Shepherd. (Who by the way, runs things. He lets the Huskies think they’re in charge). As I pull Husky fluff out of my coffee once again…I want to come back as a Herd member. Sounds like one beautiful life!
Roscoe has the loooonnngggest tail ever(husky,or other breed!)
Maybe he’s part jaguar!!!
He looks like he’s already well settled in to his new life!
Also, Hu-Dad is “right-on”…
Huskies are already perfect!!
They are livin’ the good life!
He seems to be settling in well. Sabo the German Shepherd Attorney at Paw and the rest of our clan wish the Sibe Tribe And their humans a joyous end of the year and a wonderful 2019
So we have two questions
First .. do the Sibe Tribe members have New Year Resolutions?
Second. Who has taken over as the head of security since the beautiful Miss Kiska has moved to a heavenly space with no pain to wait for the rest of you? Or is that position infilled (I have always heard huskies were not good as guardian breeds, but all my friends that have huskies have shepherds as well so I have never seen them in a position where they have to “take the lead”
Just curious ….
also maybe I missed a post but is Roscoe thin? Or is he just smaller than the rest of the Tribe? Or am I imagining it because it would be hard for anyone to compete w Boom Boom’s fluffy tail
Great questions.
New Year’s Resolutions? We are Siberian Huskies. We know we are perfect and don’t need to improve. Just ask us. Hu-dad, on the otherhand, needs lots of work (and his resolutions all revolve around publishing his novels this year. He is aiming for three by the end of 2019).
Security? Typhoon continues to keep the yard safe from rabbits, but we don’t spend a lot of time yelling at any other wildlife. Kiska was a rarity for the breed.
Roscoe? He is a normal weight (about 48 pounds), but certainly has the room to add about two pounds. We will do that slow because we want it to be muscle and not fat. His short, tight coat accents his shape so he looks thin in comparison to those of us who are a wee bit fluffier (and we really do mean fur – the bodies underneath are lean.)
Boom Boom’s Tail is a national treasure. Unfortunately, it also wiggles when he is trying to get away with something, so we have advised him never to play poker.
A beautiful way to start the day! A nice brisk early morning furmily walk!
Best time of the day for a Husky. Remember to sing out loud “It’s a happy Husky morning” as you go along!! All while their minds are thinking of ways to outsmart Hu-Dad today.
The Herd members are very lucky to find Hu-parents that go for walks before sunrise in addition to the other walks. Their every desire is taken care of. We are so lucky to be able to follow their adventures. So enjoy the wonderful pictures that accompany the stories. They always brighten my day. Love to see such happy dogs!
I’m telling you-the Herd has it made. Having Hu-Dad to take them for a wonderful morning walk-breakfast and then a little nap! Of course-while napping-they think of how many times poor Hu-Dad will have to let them in and out! I won’t tell our dog about this kind of life! He doesn’t go for a walk until after sunrise-lol!
