Solar Eclipse Glasses Model Failure

Our Hu-Dad needed us to model some solar eclipse glasses for a story. We were not the most cooperative photography subjects.

You are kidding, right?

You are kidding, right?

Hu-Dad had noticed a number of posts on social media about the need to keep dogs inside to protect their eyes during Monday’s eclipse. Now, there is no need to do so for a lot of reasons (go here to see Hu-Dad’s take), but he needed us to pose for a picture he needed. Qannik, Frankie and Landon just refused. Flat out refused. The pictures in today’s post are, believe it or not, the best pictures he could get. Miss Kiska’s reaction above sums things up – not happy at the request.

The curled lip.

The curled lip.

Typhoon’s reaction might have been the funniest with his grumbling at the glasses. You may not be able to hear it through the photograph, but there was a whole lot of snark coming out of his mouth.

Fortunately, Cheoah – the ever pleasant Cheoah – finally gave him the pose he was looking for with this picture.

Take it or leave it, Hu-Dad.

Hu-Dad took it and used it for a title card for his post. Feel free to click the picture to see what he wrote:

No matter how we try, the canine’s are in charge. Right now they’re laughing at us humans for paying hundreds of dollars for paper glasses with film lenses. And we think we’re the intelligent ones….???? Elcipse will be seen millions of times on social media, yet we have to have expensive, cheap glasses to see the exact same thing. Dogs will be taking over soon…..

Silly hu-mans, dogs are smarter than that. They know better than to look at the sun, especially when they have gorgeous blue eyes.

Cute shots! It is funny how we think WE run things with our pets. I’ve known I’m the slave for many years. The pay off is unconditional love though. Not such a bad deal.

Love the faces on Kiska and Typhoon and am sure I would have laughed at the refusal of the other three. But all that is okay because the wonderful Cheoah stepped up and took one for the team and totally rocked the sunglasses. Great team work.

*haha* Love it… and yes, dogs don’t need to be kept inside during the eclipse. They don’t look at the sun like silly humans do. Who’s the smartest again? 🙂

Shhhhh! Don’t give away our secret. We don’t want Hu-Dad to figure out that he feeds us, give us couches and beds to sleep on, takes us for walks, picks up our crap, grooms us, and pays all of our bills – while we make him think he is in charge.
