After a week of quiet, cool weather, our Chief of Security leads our storm preparation as we anticipate some heavy winds and rain.
Our first week of August provided us with unseasonably cool, pleasant and dry weather. Our high temperatures barely reached 70ĀŗF each day and Hu-Dad was even sleeping under a quilt at night. Well, he would have been sleeping under a quilt but Frankie kept stealing it and building a nest.
Stronger weather will be rumbling for the next day or so with a couple of inches of rain. Nothing particularly strong for this area, but certainly different than last week. Not to worry though because our Chief of Security was busy patrolling the grounds to make sure everyone was ready for the change.

October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldnāt have been much worse.
Good job Kiska! You’re not only head of security, but the chief meteorologist! Stay sharp sweetie, your Herd is counting on you!
The girl in charge! You keep everyone safe!
We are expecting a rainstorm here too. It’s gray and overcast, but I’m grateful that the weekend was beautiful and the stormy weather waited for Monday.
Aw Kiska… don’t know they’d all manage if it wasn’t for you! Always on alert and patrol! Kisses sweetie ????
