With Typhoon sprawled on the deck, you can easily see the Little Prince’s long legs that give him his height and rabbit-chasing speed.
Typhoon is built like a small race car – light weight and maximum acceleration. Those legs give him the ability to accelerate quickly and change direction even faster. Many a rabbit has thought they could out zig and zag the Little Prince, but they learn the hard way that he can move with amazing quickness. The only thing that saves them is that Hu-Dad insists on scanning the yard for rabbits prior to releasing Typhoon (much to his displeasure).
But Hu-Dad misses every now and then, so Typhoon stays ever alert to the possibility.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Mom sez: Our Kiah (1991-2003) was built like Typhoon, with exceptionally long legs. Even in her “old age”, she always looked “gangly”!
I’m sure much less gets by Typhoon, than Hu-Dad. *haha* We humans are so sub-standard, aren’t we?!! At least in the rabbit chasing department! 😀 Blessings~ Andrea xoxo
It’ a good thing he’s so fast…to protect you from those KILLER RABBITS…..Great job Typhoon!!! Keep it up!!!
Leena went out with me this afternoon for part of her weekly trip with me when I go to teach. I go in and teach, Mom stays in the car with Leena. Last few days there’s been a rabbit outside and she’s darted towards it only to get snapped back by the giant horse lead I have her connected to by both her collar and her harness. (My previous rescue has a tragic escape near a 4 lane with a setup of just the harness and short of my death, it isn’t happening again). She never gets near them.
Today though, said rabbit didn’t run across the road in terror, it ran 5 ft away from her max reaching distance, plopped itself down and sat there having a staring contest with her. Unlike Typhoon, who’s goal is to get a tasty rabbit, her’s would be to get a playmate. Sadly, the end result would probably be the same, though we do have a cat with two deformed front feet in the house, but she only plays with it even though the cat can outright move as fast as any other cat I’ve ever seen.
Nothing better than a good game of rabbit chase ????
