We try every day to let you know how tough the life of a working breed dog is, so today we share the struggle of chasing sun.
The back wall of our house faces due east. The windows of the great room draw sun in for light and heat. Add the fact that we have radiant heat flooring, and the perfect napping spot can be found on toasty wooden floors in a sunbeam.
Unfortunately, the rising sun rapidly moves across the floor. Naps have to be interrupted in order to move back into the sun.
Unfortunately, the process must be repeated several times throughout the morning.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
We don’t have much sun beams in the house, so the dogs went straight to the source. Outside.
Cheesewhiz isn’t looking too happy with the running sun.
That should be *We don’t have any* sunbeams in house. lol
Many times I have watched a Husky follow the sun in the house and the shade in the yard. The #1 amusing breed..
Poor Cheese Whiz and her struggle to keep up with the sun!!! SO HARD to fall into a deep sleep!
Mom sez: Well, Cheoah, it just goes to show you that you can’t turn your back on that sun for even a moment, or it can disappear THAT fast. (Second photo)
hello thundering herd its dennis the vizsla dog hay if only sumbuddy cud stop the sun for a wile so we cud snooz in peese!!! am i rite??? ok bye
Everyone, grab a husky and drag it to the next sunbeam!
But of course all that sliding around helps polish the lovely wooden floors. A husky bonus!
