Hu-Dad was watching us inside Sibe Quentin and was reminiscing about the TV show, Hee Haw. We think that just means he is old.
In particular, Hu-Dad thought of Archie Campbell and Buck Owens doing their classic skit, “Pfft, You Were Gone.” The lyrics changed each week, but the chorus remained the same wondering where their true love had gone (and thus the title and the memorable line). It was just one of those silly skits that variety shows were famous for, but it never failed to make Hu-Dad laugh.
And why was Hu-Dad thinking about that skit and that show?
P.S. – Sorry, but Hu-Dad is a real stickler about copyright and could not find a link to a legal copy of the song to embed on our website. However, feel free to jump over to YouTube and you will find several examples of the song. You know, just in case you are younger than Hu-Dad and have no idea what he is talking about.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Yup, I remember it along with the Beverly Hillbillies. I maybe a damn Yankee but I remember watching them.
Show predates me, but I still know what you’re talking about. But I don’t think it applies! I don’t care how old Kiska gets, she looks the same all the time with that long hair!
And Q tip just always looks grumpy lol
I searched the world over and thought I found true love. You met another and pfft you were gone. Yes sir I watched every week too. I was just a kid, but that show will stay with me forever. Ahh the memories. Hugs and kisses to the herd.
Oh yes! The memories!!
Watched it every week!! “Gloom despair and agony on me”. Lol
