A Squealing Good Time At The Vet

Qannik and Landon went to the vet together Monday afternoon for a squealing good time. Let’s just say everyone knew we had arrived.

We half way behaved.

We half way behaved.

Qannik was in for a follow-up visit for his digestive issues. He has improved dramatically, though we decided to extend treatments for another week and he continues to heal (treating the cecum – the connection between the small and large intestine).

I behaved perfectly.

I behaved perfectly.

Landon had his full physical and blood drawn for complete labs. We like to have an extensive labwork so we have a baseline for comparison in the future. He appears totally healthy.

Boom-Boom (that would be Landon’s nickname) is continuing to work on his “public” behavior. When he gets really excited, sees other dogs, knows we are going on a walk, thinks he is being left out of something or wants to do something, he expresses himself by squealing. Really, really, really loudly. He is working very hard on a better approach, but sometimes things just get so overwhelming, he reverts to full-on squealing mode. Like, say, in the middle of a vet’s waiting room with other dogs.

Oops. I forgot to use my inside voice.

Oops. I forgot to use my inside voice.

On the bright side, everyone at our vet’s office now knows who Landon is.

Wow. This is our 3000th post.

Our thoughts are with those on the other side of the “park” in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Best thoughts for the firefighters and residents. (Great Smoky Mountains National Park – We live in sight of the eastern border and Gatlingburg is on the western border).

Praying for all of you in Tenn. and N.C. for your safety from the fires. Pray the wind dies and the rains come.

Congratulations on the 3000 post. The 3001 post could be the Landon aka Boom Boom squeal. = )

My BF’s family lives outside Gatlinburg, so we’re concerned for their safety. I hope this whole mess blows over (figuratively speaking) soon, without damage to the people we know and love.

That being said, if you guys are that close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, the next time we pack our dogs up and roll that way for a family visit, I would love to get my two together to play with your pack. 😀

We are on the other side of the park – Maggie Valley, NC. “Close” is relative.

Leena does the same thing but in talking when she is being ignore, isn’t getting enough attention, or generally is upset. Drives me nuts, and happy at the same time.

We’ve been dealing with a few fires north of it all up here with a few possible evacs as well. My boss for this new remote place I’m working for is down in Sevierville, did you hear if they were on evac as well?

    • The Thundering Herd on November 29, 2016 at 9:19 am

Appears most of the evacuations are south of Sevierville, but not by much. TEMA is reporting hundred + structures destroyed including whole neighborhoods.

So glad Qannik is doing better!!! I’m also happy to know that Landon so confidently introduced himself to all the others!!!

First our prayers go out to Tennessee and the wild fires

    Oh Landon you make laugh.

We need to hear Landon’s squeaky voice soon!

I agree! Video of the Boom Boom Squeak!

Glad you guys are away from the fires. Friends on vacation in the area bugged out fast yesterday. A few of the videos, like the one of the people trapped in a hotel, really were scary. They got out successfully thankfully.
