Big Dogs Are Back

As we mentioned yesterday, our big dog neighbors are back home from their winter vacation, so we thought we would dedicate a post to their homecoming.

So many signs of spring abound – flowers blooming, trees budding, grass greening. But our favorite is the horses returning from their winter vacation. Since we drive through the ranch to get to town, we love being greeted by our “big dog” neighbors.

They leave each winter right after Thanksgiving and we miss seeing them every day. They certainly are settling right back into snacking on the luscious mountain grasses.

Howdy, Neighbor.

For those wondering, no, we do not go running loose with the horses. Part of being a good neighbor is respecting each other’s boundaries, so we are either on leash or in the Jeep when on their property – and they are saddled with rider when passing our house. We just love being neighbors to each other.

So welcome back, Big Dog Neighbors. Hope you are settling back into your summer home well.

It sounds like you are all great neighbours – human, canine and equine!

Mom sez: Those big dogs are beautiful. Are they “easy” with the Herd around? They should all be pretty used to one another by now. Beautiful neighbourhood you live in.

Do you ever sneak them carrots? I’d be tempted to try and make friends. 🙂
