We have shown you before how Typhoon likes to walk backwards while we are hiking. Â Containing a Typhoon is difficult, but we have dug into our bag of dog sledding equipment and added a neck line. Â Yep, Typhoon is now connected to Cheoah for walking and she makes sure that he keeps facing the right direction. Â Just one of those little tricks the hu-dad is always coming up with to deal with The Herd.

Hurricane Hugo Memories
September 21, 2024
Thirty-five years ago, a massive storm hammered our region and left a path of destruction, leaving us with Hurricane Hugo memories.
We used to use a coupler in much the same way with some of our more boisterous fosters. Hawk was a big boy, almost eighty pounds, and there weren’t too many dogs who could pull him around.
What a great idea hu-dad!
Hope you are ALL wearing Bear Bells!! Time for little ones to be out and they don’t always stay close to mom right now, and moms are fussy.
We saw a sow with three littles just a couple of days ago, at our mailbox. And a very (200+) large male entering the woods (off the hard road) heading straight to our house below. We have mini goats and worry about them with bears, but have an arab pony who (so far) has kept the bears and big cats out of the fenced fields. I want a mini donkey to help with patrols, but have not found one as yet.
Yes, we wear our bear bells! Our neighbor found bear prints in the dirt of a work shop he is building.
Wow! Those trails are definitely overgrown!
I connect Koda to Mika as well like that. It seems to help him stay focused in the walking direction!
Hope you had a great weekend!
