    The best hike one with no surprises. We just have to deal with coyotes, for the most part. Have you ever run into one while hiking? A bear, that is.

      Make noise on the trail so you do not surprise a bear while out hiking. A surprised bear can ruin a good hike.

      Lots of black bears around here. They prefer to stay out of your way, so you just want to let them know you are on the trail.
