Hurricane Hugo Memories
September 21, 2024
Thirty-five years ago, a massive storm hammered our region and left a path of destruction, leaving us with Hurricane Hugo memories.
Stunning.

You sure are stunning Kiska! So is the scenery behind you π
How come I didn’t realize that you lived in Maggie Valley? I used to go to Maggie Valley all the time when I was growing up (We lived in Western NC too!).
That was the first place I ever rode a chair lift!! π
So much forest to run around in!
The photos are gorgeous, but I’m sure they only hint at how beautiful it is there. The Herd is so fortunate.
Definitely stunning! You are lucky to live in such a scenic place. How far do you have to drive to get the place where you hike? I’ve always been curious, too, about how many miles you hike on a Saturday. I’m guessing quite a few to wear out The Herd!
Woo, Kiska, stunning vista you gave us today BUT that’s not the only remarkable part of this post – you look quite stunning yourself.

Oh. Wow. That is Absolutely Beautiful!!!! (Mom is sighing with pleasure – when she lived in NC, she and her parents used to take trips into the the mountains, and now she’s all nostalgic-like). Some of our trees are just starting to change colors, and so I anticipate some mountain pictures for us, too. Enjoy the wonderful weather!

I agree – STUNNING. It looks like Kiska loved it too! I hope that you have another one like that today.
Wow, what beauty our country has! You all are lucky Sib’s to be able to take it all in. Like 3 Dogs said above, we will have to live through you guys to see mountains. Enjoy this wonderful Holiday weekend.

I. Am. So. Jealous.
We were up in the mountains last weekend and, honestly, there is nothing better! You guys are so lucky you get to see them everyday!!! For now I guess we will just have to live vicariously through your pictures but someday….someday…. π
Wow! Those are awesome views. You sure have great places to go on walks!!! We have some hills across a valley from us that are called the “Lost Hills” because you normally can’t see them unless there’s been a storm and a lot of wind so that the air is very clear. Walk ON! Herd… Walk ON… and keep on sharing your views with us, too, ok? The CCC
