Snowy Walking Wednesday

*********************

Congratulations to Lance Mackey for his Fourth Consecutive Iditarod win – and for recording the second fastest time ever in the history of the race. Β Always great to see how much he cares for his dogs. Β A very classy guy and a great representative of the sport!

As much as I yearn for spring, when I see a totally snow covered forest, it makes my heart sing! So beautiful!

Your pups are looking fine, some are pulling and some are not even on the same team.

    Cheers,
    Stella and Jo

Great vid – and the race was fun to catch up on. Finally watched some decent footage last night. The right guy won. πŸ™‚

Enjoy that snow as long as you can!

    Looks like a fun walk!

Your walk couldn’t be more different than the one we took today on the beach. Well, I guess we had one thing in common – everyone had fun!

I like hearing the jing-jingling of their collars as they walk through the snow.

I must say, I saw many beautiful dogs while in AK last week, but none as pretty as your pack!

Wow, it looks like the middle of the winter there! We keep hearing we may see snow on Saturday but we will believe when it gets here. The reds really looked eager to get on with the walk this time. We kept waiting for somepup to lift a leg on that snowperson there.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day to you!

Wow, that was refreshing! It was so warm here today, the dogs didn’t even want to stay outside. If I show them this cool video of The Herd, we’ll have some puppy tears around here!

No, no, the pleasure is all yours. I don’t mean to be rude, but I only get happy because you’re happy. Snow makes me miserable. It’s a pleasure to watch from the comfort and safety of my warm home though. Everybody looked so happy, especially Kodiak.

Wow, look at all that snow. Ours is finally gone. It is now in the 60s and SUNNY!

    Loving the slide! πŸ™‚

I cannot believe that you still have so much snow AND it is still snowing! It was 65 degrees in Albuquerque yesterday! Thanks for helping to make mom’s birthday extra wonderful…your comments made her smile AND helped to save an Eskie.

That is so coooool! You guys still have snow, we are totally jealous. It’s going to be like almost 70 degrees here in Maryland for the rest of the week.

I wouldn’t mind just one more snow for the season. I love playing bitey face with the snow!

YEA!!!!!! What a great video!!!! Look at all that snow!
It’s supposed to get to almost 70 here on Friday… then snow on Saturday. Hmm. We’ll see. The weather peeps should really give Ammy a call before they go much further with that!

Looks like a great time snow walking! It sounded a little windy too…good thing you all have such fabulous fur coats unlike me. πŸ™‚ My favorite part was when you stopped by the snowman and were sliding in the snow. πŸ™‚

Love seeing the irrepressible spirits walking in the snow! The Cheoah slide! And the obstacle. I chuckled – a certain labrador would have tried to bring that branch with him on the rest of the walk!

To be honest, I was also glad to see that they occasionally get ‘out of formation’. When I have two (only TWO) dogs on leash, I sometimes get wrapped up in leashes like you wouldn’t believe. Yet, in every video and photo that I’ve seen on your blog, your dogs look perfectly behaved on leash. The video shows that their perfect behavior actually faltered for a moment… but they didn’t wrap anyone in leashes!!

Laughing, KB. They are often out of formation. Editing software helps create that organized state!

  18. Zoe on March 17, 2010 at 9:13 am

I like how everything is so peaceful and quiet. My humom talks to me constantly on our walks.

  19. Houndstooth on March 17, 2010 at 8:13 am

Well, darn it, Rusty was very well behaved this time! It looks like The Herd was pretty happy with the snow. I feel for you! I’m ready for green grass and warm weather!

Honey – iMovie from Apple is the easiest video editing software and things like the filmstrip effect is included in the software. Very cool, and easy to use, stuff.

  21. Honey the Great Dane on March 17, 2010 at 7:21 am

ps – that is so cool how you made your video look like movie reels – how do you do that?

  22. Honey the Great Dane on March 17, 2010 at 7:20 am

Wow – that was amazing – like watching one of those beautiful wildlife documentaries with wolves! YOur human must be really strong to be able to hold you back – you looked like you were all ready to break into a run! πŸ™‚ And did you find that snowman or did your human make it? My favourite part was when you started rubbing your faces in the snow! πŸ˜€

    Slobbers,

There was a whole lotta shakin’ going on!

As fur the SNOW, I’m off to dream about it AND being on Lance’s team!

Mom soooooo enjoyed watching the khoverage on the Anchorage TV station stream – Lance was sooooo khool with his teammates!

Now I know how my role model Kara felt!
