Hot & Humid

We think a lot of pups out there will share in our sentiment right now – it is hot and humid.  We may not see the 90F (30C) some of you see, but we still think that some afternoons can be a pretty warm.  Hope everypup is getting plenty of fresh water and shade (if not that cool air vent which, sadly, we do not have).  Thought we would share our opinion of that:

Just for our pal Bricey – Cheoah grazes, too

Panting a little, Rusty?

P.S. – The Herd has lots of woos and paws crossed for Phantom and family.  So close after the loss of Dakota, the family has received a difficult pathology report on Phantom.

Our real feel temp was 112 yesterday afternoon. We stayed inside in the AC and sent Mom and Dad out to saw down storm-damaged trees. In the sun. It was exhausting watching them through the windows!

We don’t have AC either. But Dad brought in a big fan from the garage and we just sit in front of it. It’s just like riding in the car with your head out the window.

in regards to air conditioning… here is a re-make of the song “stuart” from Dead Milkmen, for Loki and his Siberian Husky, taken from one of my old posts. You’d have to know the song to understand the remake of the lyrics. the original song is hilarious… here you go:

You know that Formosan Dog, the one who barks at everyone in the neighborhood?
He’s a foreign dog. Some people think he’s an attack dog, but I don’t believe it.
Anyway, for his 2nd birthday, all he wanted was a husky
Kept bugging his old lady. “Mom, get me a Siberian husky. I’ll never ask for anything else as long as I live.”
So the chick breaks down and rescues him a Siberian Husky.
Anyway, 10:30, the other day, I go out in the yard and there’s the Formosan Dog looking into the redwood trees.
I say “What are you lookin’ for?”
He says “I’m looking for my Siberian husky”
I say “Jumpin’ Jesus on a pogo stick! Everyone knows that Siberian Huskies Live in the house, where there’s air conditioning. Why do you think they call them Siberian Huskies anyway?”
Now Stuart, you think a dog like that is going to know what the deers are doing to our soil?

    Wow look at those tongues!

Phantom and his family are in our thoughts and prayers too. 🙁

We’re having a heat wave here too. Fortunately along the coast it’s just in the 80s, but go inland and you bake.

We read Phantom’s tough news. So sad! 🙁

Ah,yes, it is so very warm and humid here. Today was supposed to hit 99 but some thunderstorms rolled in and are helping keep it a little cooler. Phantom and Mom are very appreciative of your thoughtfulness. Here we go again.

Sounds like very tough weather for a group of thick-furred dogs.

I just read about Dakota and Phantom. Oh my goodness. Having just recently lost a beloved dog, I cannot even imagine what that family is feeling right now.

We just came from the OP Pack. How incredibly tough.

On a lighter note, perhaps the herd needs to visit Vermont – it’s been thundering all summer – and we are running 12 degrees below average. 66 today! 🙂

It’s cold down here – come hang out with me.

I am purring my hardest for Phantom. Poor boy.
