Competition of the Class Clowns

Something about my red-headed boys, but they are always in a competition to see who is the biggest class clown.  Take this picture (which I could have cropped to show off Cheoah).  Exactly what face is Rusty trying to do?  And why is Kodiak doing his imitation of the Hunchback?  Stormy of the A04 must be really proud of these efforts in posing for a photograph.

Faces

Kodiak tries to up the ante by taking a pine cone and ripping it into little pieces:

But Rusty quickly put things into high gear to be sure of winning this competition.  How?  By demonstrating the best possible digging skills.  First you have to get the paws planted just so and begin the forward motion:

Next, when the ground is a little hard, you have to concentrate with the strongest paw to get the ground broken up for better traction:

And with that done, you go into the full motion that can best be shown via video.  Notice young Cheoah try to copy the action (yes, that is her lovely whine in the background at the start of the video) and Kodiak checking out the progress (Qannik is eating nuts he finds on the ground, in case you are wondering).

All of that digging is really hard work and a good nap is earned:

Rusty, if you’re trying to dig your way to China, I think you need to aim a bit to the left.

Darn, we couldn’t get the video to play very well, but we don’t think there is anything wrong with a pack of clowns – they do put a smile on one’s face.

    Woos, the OP Pack
