Our day started out rainy and foggy, but ended up a beautiful, cool fall day. So, of course, we went hiking. Since the mountains are crawling with tourists looking at the leaves (they are beautiful this weekend), we picked some of the more out of the way trails. Here is one of the fire roads we hiked today:
After a great day of hiking, the dogs are tired and relaxed. Here is Cheoah resting in her crate as Rusty begins the tedious work of trying to find just the right place to take a nap in the background.
You can see her right eye and how clear it is looking, so the eye infection appears to be clearing well. Last week, both her eye and the skin around her eye were red. But that is your only chance to see her eye, because Cheoah is fading rapidly (but Rusty is still working for the right napping spot):
And, finally, the battle is over and her eyes close. Cheoah asleep – always makes for a quieter ride home (Rusty, however, is still working on the perfect nap):

I’m glad Cheoah’s eye is better. That bed looks mighty comfy in her crate!

WOO WOO
It was a GREAT weekend for hiking! We don’t know why you try and stay away from the tourists? They might have
great treats hidden in their pockets! Yesterday, we saw a human riding his bike with his fur-kid sitting on his head!
We wanted Mom to carry us but she said Nope!

Mom wants to know do you run into a lot of tourists when you’re hiking? Do
they freak out when they see this huge pack of dogs coming at them? You pups
could have a lot of fun with that. Anyway, our Aunt Sarah is headed to the
Parkway next week. She’s taking a few days off to enjoy the fall colors.
