A Disgruntled Prince
The Hu-Dad is working against a series of deadlines this week, and he almost forgot to make our post for today. He needed a smiling face from the closest pup for the story. Typhoon was nearest and smiling is not his natural face. So, instead, you get a disgruntled prince.

Hu-Dad Is Fibbing
Hu-Dad can tell a story, but they sure are whoppers! He claims that some deer were on the other side of our fence just a few feet away and neither one of us saw or smelled them. Oh, sure, he did suddenly decide we needed to go inside the house, but when he tried to tell us why, we knew he was fibbing. We are mighty hunters, so absolutely no way did it happen. Right?

Coming In Close
Hu-Dad has so many responsibilities around the house. Feeding us. Walking us. Entertaining us. Taking photos of us. He requires diligent supervision to ensure he remains focused on our every need, so when he sat down outside with the camera in his hand, Typhoon was concerned he was slacking off so was coming in close for an inspection. Gotta watch those humans, you know.

We were hanging out in the backyard when Hu-Dad realized Landon was out of sight. For some odd reason, Hu-Dad associates such behavior with mischief. When Landon reappeared, he claimed total innocence and assured everyone he was just being Boom Boom.

Frankie Suave is always calm and cool, but he does insist that certain important things happen in a timely manner. Mainly, meals and bedtime. In this case, suppertime approached and Hu-Dad was still busy with tasks, so Frankie gave him an appropriate look of concern to ensure schedule compliance.

Hu-Dad went out to the backyard for a few things without taking us with him. We know, it sounds crazy and we knew it was a mistake. Don’t worry, though, because Roscoe took care of things and opened the door. You should have heard Hu-Dad’s shouts of glee when he saw us coming.

I Spy A Deer Friend
Landon freezes in the middle of the yard. He swivels his head and stares into the woods. With a flap of the tail, he engages the springs in his paws and bounces across the backyard to the fence. With that famous bushy tail flapping in excitement, he peeks through the slats and lets us know he spots one of his deer friends.

If Only I Could Fly
Hu-Dad’s first reaction was amusement at Typhoon’s focus on the hawk soaring overhead, but then he thought the Little Prince might be studying it for possible lessons. With a nice set of wings and the ability to float overhead, he might be able to return to his rabbit-catching days of youth. Hu-Dad tried to tell him the story of Icarus, but the Little Curmudgeon never wants to hear about the dangers of hubris.

A mere five weeks until Christmas Day, so something about he’s watching and keeping a list and tracking who is a good boy. Landon knows Santa Claus has always been very good to him, so he knows he’s watching. Now the only task is to convince his bad boy brother Typhoon. Hu-Dad muttered good luck with that.

Squiggly Tail
Landon’s ridiculous tail has long been his furry claim to fame. When he’s happy (which is almost always), the bushy mass of fur flicks back and forth. When he’s trying to sneak around with some mischief, it swirls even faster. Now, he’s added the squiggly tail to his running repertoire. We can only salute his talent.
