A Taxing Day
It’s that time of year. Pollen is in the air and Hu-Dad was already choking, so he decided to tackle his tax return. He grumbles that we don’t qualify as dependents, uses vocabulary that we thought only Typhoon knew, and stacks piles of paper on all parts of his desk. Helpful Little Prince
We’ve had a gorgeous week of warm, sunny weather and spring is in the air. The greenway we walk twice a day is no longer as quiet as the winter, so Hu-Dad said we needed to keep in a tight formation and behave. The helpful Little Prince piped up and volunteered to boss everyone else around. Hu-Dad pointed out that none of the other dogs pay any attention to His Royal Highness’s demands, so that probably wasn’t going to do much. Don’t worry, the Little Prince’s visions of grandeur were not diminished.

Baffled Royalty
Hu-Dad issued the command to “all dogs” to kennel up. Everypup raced to their crates and curled up inside. Except, of course, for His Royal Highness Little Prince Typhoon Phooey. Hu-Dad looked him in the eyes and said, “That includes you, Little Curmudgeon.” The baffled royalty look you see in today’s photo was the response.

Conspiracy Whispers
Thick as thieves, the two bestest buddies were plotting and planning in Hu-Dad’s study last night. They won’t reveal what the conspiracy whispers were all about and disguised everything with a rousing wrestling match. Quite clever and distracting.

The Work Is Never Done
Poor Roscoe P. was the closest pup to Hu-Dad. Ok, technically, Typhoon was closer, but he was being grumbly and didn’t want to cooperate, so Roscoe was drafted. As a working breed, we know we have to be prepared for any task since the work is never done. So Roscoe would like you to know that he is smiling for the camera exactly as requested, though he might have been back asleep three seconds later.

Couch Claim Made
Certain spots in the house have long been deemed as the best places to hang out. One of those is the couch in the den, a spot right outside the Hu-Dad’s study. The smile on Boom Boom’s face says it all. He got there first and made the couch claim. Dibs!

Hu-Dad was dutifully working away in his study as a wrestling match ensued between His Royal Highness Little Prince Typhoon Phooey and his bestest brother, Roscoe P. Unfortunately for the brothers, they seemed to have reached an impasse as both of them tightened their grips. Seems like they were both muttering, “I got you, bro,” but neither wanted to surrender.

Hu-Dad came through a room and stumbled across today’s sight. The snoozing must have been very good because Landon did not twitch at all as Hu-Dad snapped a photo and then carefully stepped over the sleeper. One of the many obstacles of living at Chez Herd.

Frankie’s Deep Thoughts
Rain fell most of the day yesterday, making for a soggy (and muddy) backyard, especially with our construction project. We made it out for our two daily walks, but spent the rest of the day hanging out in the study. At one point, Hu-Dad looked over and noticed Frankie’s deep thoughts. Or maybe he was meditating to ignore the ruckus of his younger siblings wrestling. Either way, Frankie says have a happy and suave Friday.
