Trail Hiking

Hiking

Much of the Blue Ridge Parkway has re-opened from winter closings, which means we can access some of our favorite high altitude trails.

Even if some of us (er, Rusty) have our own unique style of hiking, we all love our hiking trails.

Tail wag

See, we even have a synchronized tail wag we are so happy.

It is not just a hike…it is a chorus line tribute to the new season!

Me’n Ice are just curious. Does the Herd have anyplace where they can run FLAT OUT for exercise? Are they ever allowed to run “off leash” anywhere? About two blocks from where we live, there is a “green-belt” park, and it has an abandoned ball diamond, completely chain-link fenced, and our Hu-people take us over there a couple of times a week to let us run off steam on the ball diamond. Ohhh, it feels soooo good!

We are lacking a good running place (seems we act a little like a Siberian Street Gang at the dog park, so the hu-dad has decided that we can’t go there if other dogs are inside). BUT, the hu-dad is working on a surprise – a permanent surprise – for us sometime late spring. That’s all he will say for now.

You guys have the best hiking trails. I’m so jealous! Love the synchronized tail wags.

Your trails look lovely already! I’m hoping for a little spring green on ours to make things more interesting!

Did you run into any snow up high? Looks like it is Spring where you are. A good bit of snow left here but it will be gone with a couple more warm days. I will be surprised if we don’t get a St. Patrick’s day storm, We ALWAYS do!

    Cheers,
    Jo, Stella, Zkhat

No snow anywhere, other than the ski resort. Sigh. Just has been one of those winters.

Synchronized tail wag? Isn’t that um, anti-siberian? 😉 Nice trails!

Sometimes, to throw the humans off, we cooperate. That way, they never know what to expect next.

Our hu-mom says we have a synchronized tail wag, too, especially when we are excited! Those trails look really nice, but we don’t really like leashes or collars. So we stick to the big back yard.

(Lookie! We got hu-mom to change the name you see when we comment!)
