Crabs!

How about a little lighter story from our beach week trip before Kodiak’s accident?  This is one we promised to tell when posting about our visit with Kody and Nia (and humans David and Linda).  We visited Palmetto Islands County Park and had a blast.  Let’s let the pictures tell the story.

Our hosts were Nia (background) and Kody.

We loved all of the board walks through the marsh.

And, of course, the great game of bump each other off the boardwalk.

Qannik was confused why humans would not want to swim at the park just because of a few alligators.

Natasha showed great interest in what else was there.

Lots and lots of these.

A close up of one of the thousands and thousands of fiddler crabs.

Nia was a crab hunter extraordinaire and loved showing off her skills.

Though she did jump straight up from the one peril of crab hunting - crab claw to the nose.

We all had a great time at the park.

Rusty, too, just from his usual walking position.

Rusty even learned to drink from a water bottle.

Thanks Nia (and Kody and David and Linda) for showing us a great new park.

Ha ha! Those crabs can be tricky, that’s for sure. Now that’s Rusty’s learned to drink from a water bottle, can operating heavy equipment be far behind?

What a great experience to be among those crawling crabs! I hope no one was actually bumped off the boardwalk. The smell of the marshes lasts a long time.

Woos are so lucky Nia and Kody showed you the best crab catching spot. Natasha probably had them all lined in formation.
