Every kid, including Roscoe, who has ever played tag knows you are safe if you are touching home base.
Siberian games are much like kid gamesâthe rules change constantly. But one rule is sacrosanct in tagâwhoever is ‘It’ can’t tag someone who is on home base. That’s a safety zone.
By now, you are probably wondering why the other dogs aren’t breaking the rules and tagging Roscoe anyway. The truth is no game of tag is going on. The dogs came out to the yard and squirrels scampered up the trees. Everyone, including Roscoe, is mesmerized by the little critters.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldnât have been much worse.
Funny. My three play zoomie tag. Speedy version of wrestle-bitey face. If you want a time out (home base) you go stand in the kiddy wading pool. No one will bite or tag you in the pool. Seems to be a safe spot that is respected by all.
My husband and I always say when we see the dogs looking at something like that-“They are HYPTONIZED by the squirrel”. Love Roscoe’s concentration.
