To snorfle is to inhale deeply to capture the scent of others. It’s in our dictionary even if isn’t in yours. And this is some snorfling fun.
Merriam-Webster and Oxford may not show some of our terms, but the official canine dictionary has them. A snorfle, for example, is a deep inhalation to maximize the smell of something. Like Typhoon is doing to the grass above. And like Roscoe is doing below.
Based on Typhoon’s look, we are guessing it is better to snorfle than to be snorfled, so we are thinking wrestling matches will begin any second now.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Hahahaha!!! I know exactly what a snorfle is Queen Alfie does it all the time!!
Thank you for giving a word and definition to something my Huskies do daily. They do it to things, each other and us. I especially love it when they “snorful” in mid air. Noses and heads pointed upwards. Twitching nostrils like Bunnies…this explains a lot. Let the wrestling match continue!
I love this blog Hu-Dad.
What a great new word to add to my canine vocabulary! Will be sure to use it when in the great outdoors..
LOVE those words Hu-Dad-The snorfler and snorflee! Not in the pictures but sure the actual wrestling match ensued! I just think the brother bond between Typhoon and Roscoe is super special.
