We get blamed for a lot of things (and might even cause a few disasters), but we have solid alibis against allegations of our involvement in a rockslide.
For some strange reason, whenever a mess happens at or near Chez Herd, our Hu-Dad always suspects our involvement. We want to be clear that we had no involvement in the rockslide Friday that has closed Interstate 40 near our house for at least a week.
We point the paw at our Hu-Dad. After all, he is giving away a novella, Alone Together, on his website that just happens to feature a rockslide on that very stretch of interstate. And that book is a prequel to his novel, The Lottery. That book is already out, but the eBook goes on sale Tuesday. Mighty convenient for him (and you can even see all the links and details over on his website).
As for us, we were miles and miles away in our S-RV and couldn’t possibly have been involved. Just check out these innocent faces.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?

Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.

We think a lie detector test is in order.
Charlee: “Hmm, I would say Dennis was involved in this somehow, except of course went to the Rainbow Bridge well before it happened.”
Chaplin: “I still think he could be involved somehow.”
Absolutely Dennis was involved. All of his adventures are supernatural!
However, as a former deputy sheriff, I notice one dog is not proclaiming his alibi. Just saying. 🙂

So does the rockslide prevent you from getting home? Love the bone blankets or pads. My dogs seem to have those types of innocent faces too and of course those eyes are what really gets me to believe them. Haha
Am on page 49 of book so far. Very good so far.
Fortunately, the rockslide is just beyond our exit, so we had no problem getting home. In fact, it made the trip easier since so little traffic comes this way if they can’t get through.

I have to agree…. the faces of innocence need work. But the cuteness factor is off the charts!!!
Although your “innocent” faces need work-I DO believe the Herd had absolutely NOTHING to do with the rock slide on the road!!!
