Approaching Storm

The National Weather Service is warning us about an approaching storm, but that didn’t keep us from three neighborhood walks today.

Just a dusting of snow on the road at first walk.

Just a dusting of snow on the road at first walk.

All week long, the weather experts have been warning and wailing and whining about a storm that is supposed to pummel us. Of course, lots of snow is a plus in our book, so bring it.

The ski area's snow plows were keeping the "main" road open.

The ski area’s snow plows were keeping the “main” road open.

We’ve had snow showers all week long, so this morning’s dusting was not any different than we had already seen. But as the afternoon progressed, things began to get a wee bit whiter.

Now it's starting.

Now it’s starting.

By our afternoon walk, the snow was coming down steadily, though accumulations were still light.

Snow building up on our fur.

Snow building up on our fur.

Depending on which forecaster you listen to, we are supposed get somewhere between 6 and eleventy-seven bazillion inches of snow through Sunday. Hope Hu-Dad is ready to keep up our walks on Sunday.

But can you walk backwards in the snow like Typhoon?

Backward walking is quite a gift.
We haven’t had snow since 1960.

We love to see the snow….. in pictures! While you fluffy Sibes are lacing up your boots in those cold NC mountains, Izzy the akita and I are just entering that time of year in SW Florida when we put on socks with our flip flops!! ????

Here in Little Switzerland , NC we have 11+ inches since it started at midnight, no wind just steady snowfall! So far everyone is sleeping thru it! Big surprise at daybreak for them! Thor is doing great and A#1 bed dog!

We love hearing Thor is enjoying the bed!

Have a blast in the snow.

P.S. – We had 14.5″ overnight and 1.5″ during the day yesterday, so we are sitting at 16″.
