A Little Rain Must Fall During Our Walks

Landon believes firmly in our nightly walks, so we went despite the threatening weather. And now we know soemtimes a little rain must fall.

Uh, Hu-Dad, we got wet tonight.

Uh, Hu-Dad, we got wet tonight.

Off and on rain showers soaked us throughout the afternoon. Hu-Dad attempted to convince Landon that we might have to skip our walk last night, but he was having none of it. When he wants something, he squeaks. A loud, high-pitched squeak. Trust us when we say it is effective. The end result is that we took a walk despite the gloomy, threatening skies.

My spiky hair attests to the fact that a little rain must fall.

So, yes, of course it rained during our walk. Of course we got wet. And everyone blamed Landon. But his defense was simple and to the point.

Good thing I am cute, huh?

September 11

We are often asked what the most popular post in the history of our website is. The answer is that the post does not feature a single member of our family but focuses on the canine heroes on that horrible day, September 11, 2001, and the days that followed. It has been read nearly 15,000 times since we originally posted it. We wrote it because, like so much of social media, there is a recurring fake story floating around about Daisy, a guide dog who led her blind owner down from the 101st floor. But two service dogs, Roselle and Dorado, did lead their owners down from the 78th and 71st floors respectively. We also salute Servus, who was injured in rescue efforts, and Port Authority K9 Officer Sirius who lost his life that day.

As we say this year and every year, We Will Never Forget. And we will salute all of the heroes that day and all of the days to follow.

Landon, you’re probably going to see more rain than you ever have. Please stay safe as Florence closes in on the Carolinas. I hope and pray all animals and their humans find safety.????

Landon is irresistible! I get the walkie woooo before I’ve finished my coffee in the morning. That lets me know to chug it and get out the door. I’m sure thinking of you and everyone in the path of Florence.

Our Akita Izzy is very afraid of heavy rain and, of course that nasty thunder, but lighter rain she has no trouble dragging her mommy around the neighborhood.

Landon reminds me so much of our husky mix Bradley in that he MUST walk every day-no matter what the weather-lol. Rain-snow-hot and humid-doesn’t matter. Although Bradley doesn’t squeak like Landon-he pushes his nose into me as if to say-“Come on-aren’t we going yet?” SO-we walk!!!
