Never Too Old To Dig A Little Fun

Miss Kiska continues to do well as she approaches her 12th anniversary living at Chez Herd. In fact, she says you are never too old to dig a little fun.

Miss Kiska's project.

Miss Kiska’s project.

Cheoah’s annual basement excavation project is well-known among readers of our blog, but she isn’t the only one busy being creative. Miss Kiska has decided to keep her project close to the shade of the senior covered porch, but she has been proudly working on it every day. Hu-Dad has always believed that digging is good exercise (and burns some of the excess energy of the younger members of The Herd), so he says digging anywhere except along the fence line is acceptable. As winter approaches, he will fill the holes in to keep ice from building up in them.

Getting nice and deep.

Getting nice and deep.

So Miss Kiska’s project will be allowed to continue and she can have all the fun she wants with it. That doesn’t stop her from look a little surprised when she spots Hu-Dad watching her. Too many years of protesting innocence when caught in a little mischief, so she turned around and did her best “Not Me” look.

Don't look surprised, Hu-Dad. Never too old to dig.

Don’t look surprised, Hu-Dad. Never too old to dig.

I re-read her bio again and it looks like she’s still on top of her game. It’s a reminder that all dogs need a job.
