Handling Cold Weather

After a very warm November and December, we are finally having seasonal winter weather.  Our dawn temperature of 12ºF (-11ºC) yesterday morning warmed up to 28ºF (-2ºC), so you may ask how we are handling cold weather.

The ski area next door had 14 slopes open yesterday with more to come, so they are certainly celebrating some real winter weather. Mother Nature has only blessed us with some light snow so far, but they have plenty of snow making ability.

The best answer for how we are handling cold weather is our response at bed time – we don’t want to come inside. The worst offenders are Typhoon and Qannik who would prefer to hang out in the yard all night of Hu-Dad would let them.

Ok, fair enough, you might catch quite a few of us snoozing in front of the fireplace, but everyone is outside when it is sunny!

Cheoah made it to safety and the game is put on hold . . . for now.

Now, if Mother Nature would just turn some of our spitting snow showers and flurries into a serious storm, that would be awesome!

It's not all fun and games - security patrols still happen!

P.S. – Queen Natasha might have been napping in front of that fireplace during this photo session. Not that we would ever tell.

Zsofia is our “I don’t want to come in” baby…and that is why she gets a bedroom with a door at night or she would be through the dog door and sleeping on the deck…or howling at the moon.

Wow, -2C but no snow? (I come from the land down under, I have no clue how cold weather works.) I can’t believe the irony of life that you have to live near a ski resort though! Poor Herd!

The Queen has the right idea! That sounds perfect to me!
