Queen’s Decorum And a Funny Story

Today, we want to share two things with you (consider it a Bonus Monday!).  The first is an example of the Queen’s Decorum and the second is a funny story from the weekend.

First up – While the temperatures in the surrounding valleys are reaching into the mid to upper 80’s, we stay considerably cooler at home.  Sunday was our hottest day of the year so far with a high of 76ÂșF (24ÂșC) at the house.  As a result, we are hiking early in the day and then heading back to the house. Hu-dad does chores in the afternoon while we nap in the shade.  We consider that very fair, though he has been known to grumble something about working breeds.  Whatever.

Anyway, during our hike on Saturday morning, we stopped for a well deserved water break.  We looked over at our Queen Natasha the Evil, and she was being decidedly un-Queen like.

cool and wet

Oooh, this grass is cool and wet.

get away with anything

When you are the Queen, you can get anyway with anything!

For the water break, you can see that we stopped underneath a tree to drink our water.  The whole time we were taking our break, this bird was in the tree screeching at us.

remedial focus skills

Yes, we are going to work with the hu-dad on remedial “focus of the camera” skills.

Just as we were finishing our water break, the bird swooped out of the tree and pecked Kiska on the rump.  While Kiska wanted to go get her revenge, we were packing up anyway and decided to just move along.  Which was fine except as we were walking away, the bird swooped down again and pecked Frankie on the head.

We are guessing the bird is not a fan.  Just saying.

Mom sez: Glad to see The Queen DOES have a “human” — well, Doggy side to her as well. As for the yellow bird, well, two theories stated above, both could be true. Needed extra insulation for a nest in this “summer that won’t be”, or, protecting a nest full of babies. And I’m sure neither Frankie nor Kiska would ever begrudge a couple of “beaks-full” of insulation!

Thinkin’ some birdie had a baby (or babies) nearby.

Although Mom khalls me her PRINCESS, The Doggy Nanny khalls me The Khween (Queen in her world) –

I see nothing wrong with QNTE’s behavior as I’m khwite prone to that as well!

As fur those ‘cheeky’ birds, khan’t blame ’em – we do make pawesome lining material!

Mom says she rekhalls a pikhture from a Siberian show where a bird plukhked from a sleeping Sibe!

PeeEssWoo: The yard here looks like a proverbial Home Depot with lots of nest stuffing kits – something about khombs and Moms and tethered Sibes..pfffffft!
