A beautiful fall evening finds Hu-Dad taking photos of Roscoe for the blog, but how close is too close for a good picture?

After over 4,000 posts here at The Thundering Herd, the dogs have become quite the professional models. On most days, Hu-Dad breaks out the camera and captures life as it happens. But on slow days, he grabs a willing subject and gives the “look cute” command. Amazingly, the dogs ham it up for the camera more often than not (Typhoon falls in the not category a lot).

Unfortunately, they don’t always understand focal point and personal space, so sometimes come a little too close to the camera to get a good tight focus. And how close is too close?

P.S. – Happy October!

I’ve seen the first look on our Corgi’s face more times than I can count. For her it’s more like why are you speaking to me?
Happy October.. and nice teeth and gums as well
Roscoe looks good from a dental perspective, too!
My Huskies are Hams, most the time. My Shepherd falls under the category of “nope, not today”. Sadly he’s old, and time is short. I bet I have 1photo of him for every 10 of my fluffy bottoms. Great posing Roscoe! You make an amazing model!
My dogs think the camera will steal their soul. I wish I could get the great shots I see on this blog.
Some of my best shots are the close ones I got even if they are a bit blurry.
We welcome October and the cooler weather. Roscoe, you are quite the ham, and cute.
Roscoe-YOU are TOO cute!!!! No matter how close or far away the picture. Happy October all!
Happy October! Aw Roscoe you can get as close as you want ????
