Many of you have asked about Cheoah’s reaction to the swimming pool, but despite her history with water, the otter declines.
Many of you have suspected, of all of the members of The Herd, Miss Cheoah would be the most likely to get into the swimming pool. After all, she has a long of history of wading into creeks and rivers and even the surf of the ocean. And, of course, her name means Otter in the Cherokee language.
So what has her reaction been? Has she dipped her paws into the water? Swam a few laps? Dived for treasure? Nope, she has shown no more interest than anyone else in getting wet, though she does think the pool has one really nice feature.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Lulu: “Holding out for a natural water feature, eh, Cheoah?”
LOL, she is indeed one cute redhead!
All cute redheads see themselves as adorable!!
Geesh I read that differently than i should have – gave me a scare! Maddox is starting to show tiny signs he is 12.5 almost and so seniors are on my mind. Especially her, the last of the original group from back when I first started to follow the Herd.
That’s okay, ‘ol girl – you do what you want!
Or since you use alternative methods for mosquito control, they do make alternatives for chlorine in pools that would be more dog friendly.
What about a ramp installed so she can walk gradually into it?
Aw you cutie pie! Of course you’re the most precious red-head of them all ❤️
Is she reacting to chlorine in the water and/or the absence of a beach?
Our guess is they don’t like the chlorine, but it may also be the first step in a pool gets deep quick even with steps.
Oh Miss Cheoah-of course you are the MOST beautiful redhead of them all. I guess you are siding with your brothers and there will be NO husky’s swimming in that gorgeous pool?? So no dog hair in the filter Hu-Dad?
