Approaching Subject

Getting plenty of photographs of Roscoe has been something of a challenge since he is always an approaching subject to the Hu-Dad.

Headed toward the camera
Headed toward the camera

Hu-Dad has been trying to capture some good photographs of Roscoe playing in the yard, but he has discovered an interesting problem.

Moving faster
Moving faster

When Hu-Dad steps out onto the porch with his camera to take the pictures, Roscoe hears the door open. And once he hears the door, he only wants one thing.

Almost there
Almost there

Yes, we have to admit it, Roscoe, in a few short weeks, has become a daddy’s boy. He has discovered the Hu-Dad is really good with ear rubs and neck scratches. So when Roscoe sees the Hu-Dad, he forgets everything else and races to greet his human.

Leaping toward the finish line
Leaping toward the finish line

And the smile you are about to see means Roscoe is going to be a lap dog in just a few seconds. Yep, crawl up into the Hu-Dad’s lap and just melt.

And now the smile
And now the smile

Life is good at Chez Herd. Just ask Roscoe.

Bonded! That is wonderful! He seems like he just slipped into the Herd as if he was always meant to be there. Is he up to full privileges now with the others?

We move very slowly with privileges. The whole philosophy of always setting the dog up for success.

That’s pretty heart warming. You could tell how much he appreciates his new home. I wonder what his life was like before he ended up with the rescue.

    • The Thundering Herd on December 11, 2018 at 12:16 pm

We know his last several months were positive while he was in rescue, but little is known about him prior to that. He was dropped off at an animal shelter anonymously as an owner surrender. They were only told he wasn’t “good with children,” though we have seen no signs of issues (he also is not in a situation where he would ever be around children unsupervised anyway).

Roscoe KNOWS how lucky he is to be part of Chez Herd and be a “Daddy’s Boy” to Hu-Dad(plus being a BIG lap dog!!!)
