We have so much wildlife bounding through the forests around our house, but it has been a while since we had some dear deer visitors.
We were having a quiet day at home just enjoying the peace and quiet (well, and the roar of snow guns from the ski resort next door). Imagine our surprise when we looked up and realized we had a whole herd of visitors to Chez Herd. But a different herd than our herd.
We would love to tell you that we raised an alarm and greeted our guests with wild woos, but the reality was that we were all inside enjoying the comfort of a fire in the fireplace. Well, everyone except Roscoe who was eager to share what he saw.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Can’t say it better than Laura did.
Roscoe, Kiska would be proud of your perimeter awareness! You have quickly found your place in the Herd! Keep those security checks up…Kiska would would be proud!

Way to go Roscoe! Awesome job keeping the perimeter secure!
Great job Roscoe-the rest of the herd was being VERY lazy and whoa-by the fireplace? Haven’t they heard they are SUPPOSED to LOVE the snow and cold? Like I said before-you just stepped right into Chez Herd like you have always been there Roscoe boy!
